Mr. Sidney Harold Stephens, 72, of Tega Cay, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at his home with his loving family present.A memorial service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, with the Father John Giuliani, C.O. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Jean Kreutzer Stephens; his daughter, Julie Johnson and husband, Ben of Goddard, Kansas; his son, Berry Stephens and wife, Jessica of York, SC; 2 grandchildren, Jarrett and Sydni Johnson; and a sister, Beth Warensford of Deland, FL.Mr. Stephens was born on September 27, 1942 in Centre, Ala., He was the son of the late Julius Frank and Violet Stephens. He graduated from Cherokee County High School. Mr. Stephens was a retired salesman and member of Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church. Sidney was a wonderful, kind man. An unsung hero in my eyes. For many years Sid and his side kick loyal dog would collect donated groceries from our local stores, 7 days a week, and deliver to Fort Mill Care center, soup kitchen, Pilgrims Inn and more. Sid was there doing his part for those in need. God has called him to brighten up the heaven. God bless the family.
