Mrs. Sara Crump Fisher, 92, of Fort Mill, entered into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2015, encompassed by her family.The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at Higher Ground Church, with the Revs. Steve Jacks, Dewey Wise, and Benny Green officiating. Burial will be at Pineville City Cemetery.Born on June 14, 1922 to the late Fred Lee and Bertie Hargett Crump, Sara lived a very long and independent life. She continued to drive her car until she was 88 years of age. After living in her home until November 2014, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law.Sara was a strong and active lady. She enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach many times throughout the year. She loved life. She loved to camp and travel with her husband and her sisters. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Each year she and her husband would take their children and grandchildren on vacation, bringing along a small change purse, filled with 40 quarters, that she had joyfully saved all year, for each of the grandchildren. It brought her much happiness knowing they had their own spending money. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Surviving are three children; sons, Marshall Jr. of Spring Hill, Tenn. and William “Bill” of Wilmington, N.C. and daughter, Kathy Fisher Furr and husband, Bob of Fort Mill; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Marshall Sr., three sisters, four brothers and a sixteen-month old son, Terry Lee.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Higher Ground Church and other times at the home of Kathy and Bobby Furr, 10915 Caroline Acres in Fort Mill in the Indian Land community.Memorial contributions may be made to Higher Ground Church Senior Citizens, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, Indian Land, SC 29707.Condolences may be made at www.wolfefuneralhome.com.
