Ruth Davis Haraburda

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Davis Haraburda, 92, formerly of Fort Mill, S.C. and New Jersey, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at her home in Rock Hill.A memorial service will be at Noon on Saturday, Mar. 4, 2017 at The Lord’s Armory Church in Fort Mill, with Pastor Jim Grennan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held at Fort Jackson Veteran’s Cemetery in Columbia at a later date.Born in New Egypt, New Jersey, Mrs. Haraburda was a daughter of the late Joseph R. S. Davis and Ida Reed Davis and beloved step-daughter to the late Helen Davis. She attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, Penn. and later married Stanley Haraburda, who was in law-enforcement in Philadelphia. They were married for 61 years at the time of his passing in 2009. Mrs. Haraburda was a homemaker.Surviving are her daughter, Yvonne Asay of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, Amy Lynn Hooper and Stephanie Jo Grennan (Joseph); her great-granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Starnes (Christopher) and Jadyn Camille Grennan; great-great grandson, Christopher Joe “C.J.” Starnes; and her two nieces, Dorothy Powell of Maple Shade, N.J. and Marlene Niemiec of Philadelphia, Penn.She was preceded in death by her grandson, Donald Francis Dean III in 2004.Read Obituary
