Robert "Bobby" Walker

Mr. William Robert “Bobby” Walker, 87, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Wellmore of Tega Cay. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, at Wolfe Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Unity Cemetery with the Rev. Karen H. Radcliffe officiating.Born in Gastonia, N.C., Mr. Walker was a son of the late Holland Powell Walker, Sr. and Lois Ruth Morris Walker. He was raised in Fort Mill and was a graduate of Fort Mill High School. Mr. Walker joined the U.S. Navy where he flew the A-1 Skyraider off the U.S.S. Forrstal. He left the Navy and moved back east to open a grocery store in Charlotte, The Park Road Superette. Later, he went to work with First Union Bank, where he retired in 2005. Surviving are his wife, Connie Walker of Shelby, NC; his daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Majors (Andy) of Fort Mill; his son, Bill Walker (Susan) of Fort Mill; and four grandchildren, Holland Majors, Lois Majors, Asher Walker and Anna Walker, all of Fort Mill.
