Pastor Robert Eugene Taylor, 67, died Monday, August 25, 2014, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Waxhaw. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m., with Mr. Robert E. Taylor, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Belair United Methodist Church in Indian Land.Born in Indian Land, Pastor Taylor was a son of the late William Herman Taylor and Edna Houston McManus Taylor. He was a 1966 graduate of Indian Land High School and served in the Army National Guard for eight years. Pastor Taylor was a member of Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church for 41 years and pastor for eleven years. His passion was preaching, He loved his family and his church and enjoyed motorcycling.Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Patricia Ann Lowder Taylor; two sons, Michael Boatwright (Deborah) of Indian Land and Robert E. Taylor, Jr. (Carlean) of Lancaster; two daughters, Lorrie Morris of the home and Robbie Wood (Doug) of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary McCorkle and Doris Tadlock, both of Indian Land; nine grandchildren, Kristin (Scott) Storie, Amanda Boatwright, Jeremy Boatwright, Michael Wilson, Brandon (Kristen) Morris, Nicholas Wilson, Sydney Gordon, Alexis Wood and Alyssa Wood; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Boatwright and Nathan Mahaffey. He was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Herman Taylor (Betty Taylor); and his sister, Joyce Wilson.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O.
