Mr. Michael Ayers “Mike” Baker, 37, of Tega Cay, died Monday, October 23, 2017.The memorial service will be private.Born in Charlotte, Michael graduated from Fort Mill High School and his college studies included Clemson University and Winthrop University, where he graduated with a degree in Business. He was Vice President of R. Baker & Associates. Michael was an excellent cook, making his own BBQ sauce and pickles. He enjoyed science and had a special love for animals.Surviving are his parents, Reed Ayers Baker and Maria Jacquelyn Smith Baker of Fort Mill.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Pkwy., Fort Mill, SC 29715.Read Obituary
Mr. and Mrs. Baker,
I am so very sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. I was his 5th grade teacher (Hazel Cooke, then). He was always a ray of sunshine! He was always polite, kind and funny! He came back to see me many times!
May God give all of you peace that passes human understanding during this difficult time!

I was so sorry to read about Michael's passing. I taught him algebra one in the eighth grade and if I remember, I also taught him in high school when I transferred there.
What I do remember is that he was a very polite young man and a good math student. We also shared some laughs together. I am so sorry for your loss and mine too.
