Marianne McCoy Geiger, 57, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church at 13110 Moss Road, Charlotte, NC 28273. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and later at the home of Ashton and Dustin Baker, 262 Helton Lane, Fort Mill, SC 29708.Marianne was born on September 20, 1959 in Charlotte, North Carolina and was a rare native Charlottean. Her family moved to Columbia, SC during her early childhood and she graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1977. While immersing herself immediately into the workforce, Marianne also enjoyed singing in various bands and singing on several international USO Tours. Marianne met and married Tim Geiger, who also shared her love of music, in 1983.Marianne has been a part of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church since 1995 where she and Tim were heavily involved in the music ministry and the development of the praise and worship band. Marianne enjoyed using her God-given talent to help lead others in worship and bring glory to Jesus. Marianne’s love of singing was passed down to both of her daughters who are also a part of the worship ministry and sing on a regular basis.Marianne worked for Sharonview Federal Credit Union for 15 of years starting as a part-time teller and eventually becoming a Business Relationship Manager. She loved meeting new people and assisting them with their financial plans and goals as well as traveling to new places.Marianne is survived by her daughters April Portrais (Mark) and Ashton Baker (Dustin), her parents, her siblings and many other friends and family that loved her dearly.
