Mrs. Margaret “Maggie” Millwood Curtis, of Rock Hill, died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and is at home with her Lord and Saviour.Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the Christian Life Center at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Rock Hill. The memorial service will follow at 6 p.m., in the sanctuary, with her son, the Rev. Wally Buchanan, the Rev. Ray Jones and the Rev. Jesse Sims officiating.Born in Clover, Maggie was a daughter of the late John and Eunice Bryant Millwood. She was a 1947 graduate of Fort Mill High, where she was the president of the Beta Club and a member of the Glee Club. Maggie also graduated from Rock Hill College of Commerce. She played softball for the Fort Mill Lady’s League and was also a Happy Lapper for the Rock Hill Y’s Walking Club. She taught children’s Sunday school for 25 years at First Baptist Church of Fort Mill. Maggie also was a member of Founders Twenty-Five Year Club. She was a retired bookkeeper from Founders Federal Credit Union in Fort Mill and a member of Grace Church of Nazarene. Maggie loved life, animals and people. She never met a stranger. Maggie always had a smile and uplifted those she met. She was a unique person. Maggie will always be remembered for her red, curly hair, her big heart and her beautiful smile.Surviving are her husband, Frank Curtis; her son, the Rev. Wally Buchanan and his wife, Esther of Fort Mill; her daughter, Charlotte Faulkenberry and her husband, Mike of Rock Hill; her stepson, Matthew Curtis of Charlotte; her sister, Ellen Merrill of Columbia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Tobin of Seattle, Wash.; and her brother, Richard Millwood of Philadelphia, Penn.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Frank, I am so sorry for your loss. One of my fondest memories is you and Maggie jumping rope with Malia at the Engineering picnic about 27-28 years ago. She was a beautiful lady and I am honored to have known her.
