Mrs. Lacy Hensley Helms, 87, of Fort Mill, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Flack officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.Born in Fort Mill, Mrs. Helms was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Nellie Brown Hensley. She was a member of Glen Rock Baptist Church and retired from Package Products (Engraph) twenty-five years ago. Mrs. Helms was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, biscuits from Hardees and especially her dog. Her favorite quote was “I’m just a good ole country girl.” Mrs. Helms was famous for her country cooking and homemade cakes.Surviving are her son, Charles Fred Helms of Fort Mill; three daughters, Susan Plyler, Kaye Hilton and Shirley Coln and her husband, Michael, all of Fort Mill; son-in-law, Grady Reece, Sr. of Fort Mill; two brothers, Ray Hensley of Bessemer City, N.C. and Billy Hensley of Fort Mill; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her dog, Little Man. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Orlin Helms; two daughters, Janie Katherine Helms and Brenda Jean Reece; two sisters; five brothers; and two sons-in-law, Billy Plyler and Ricky Hilton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at her home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Community Hospice, 1326 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
