From time to time, the Lord takes a young person to Heaven. My best friend, my dad, Kevin Bruce Funderburk, 58, began enjoying his eternal reward April 13th, 2014 (Palm Sunday), as the result of Congestive Heart Failure. In this time of intense sorrow, it's hard not to crack a smile when we think of him. His humor will be greatly missed. Kevin was born February 15th 1956, in Lancaster, SC. He graduated from Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC, Class of 74. He was a huge "Rolling Stones" fan and "Yes". As a teenager, he loved going to concerts. He played the drums in a neighborhood band, "Backwater", and was a back-up singer as well.A lifelong Fort Mill resident, Kevin was the owner of Funderburk Electric Company, until his health declined. He loved spending time with his family, hosting yard sales, having cookouts, and directing us all as to what project we would start next. He was famous for having a "to-do list" for everyone's homes in the family. Above all, he was very proud of his accomplishments, and once completed, he would shout out, "success"! Kevin was also fond of saying, "Yes Dear" and "Deal With It".Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Max Funderburk, his son, Nathan Funderburk and his three grandbabies, Sadie, Maxwell, and Miles Bouler.Above all, his greatest love was his children and grandchildren, and his fur babies, Livvie & Lars. His hobbies included simply, making home improvements to his children's homes. Kevin also loved visiting different restaurants around town with his wife, Tracey, of 20 years. Kevin will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends, his wife, Tracey Funderburk, his mother, Ruth Hallman Funderburk, his sister, Linda Funderburk; his loving daughters, Jessica Welch and Missy Bouler; and his stepson, Michael Martin (Sarah). Also surviving is his son-in-laws, in which he was so proud of, Trent Welch and Dribble Bouler. “Pop Pop's” spirit will live on in his loving grandchildren, Richie, Chloe', Jaylen, Kara, Ty, Rayna, and Kiera. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House of Rock Hill, SC, along with the support of all of our prayer warriors. What a Glorious Day!
