Mr. Jack Thomas “Tom” Morris, 64, died suddenly on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Brier Creek Cemetery in Raleigh, N.C.Born in Raleigh, N.C., Tom was a son of the late Jack Baylus Morris and Elizabeth Utley Morris. He was a 1997 graduate from the Medical University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pharmacy. Tom enjoyed working at Piedmont Medical Center, loved being a pharmacist and was well thought of by his peers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.Surviving are his son, Bryan B. Morris; his sister, Betsy Grooms (Jack) of Fort Mill; his granddaughter, Bailey Rae Morris; his niece, Melissa Fussell; and two nephews, Adam Morris and Blake Morris. He was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin S. Morris.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Wolfe Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.Read Obituary

Tom was my best friend in High School. I haven't seen him in 43 yrs., but I loved him.I just decided to look him up.
We were in band together , and he was the drum captain. He lived a block away and we spent countless hours together. He had a sense of humor that cracked me up,and when he went into his uncontrollable laugh, it could spread like a happy fire. Did he ever do "mole man" for anyone? God bless you who will miss Tom...I have for many years.

Tom was the anchor that kept the Pharmacy Department at Piedmont grounded. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh but also knew when it was time to get busy and could work circles around the rest of us. I always looked forward to working the evening shift with Tom becasue I knew he would make sure we had a worthy dinner and some laughs to break up the intense moments. Losing Tom creates a void at Piedmont that cannot be filled as he will be missed by so many. Hoping Tom finds those triplets he was always talking about and that his family finds peace during this difficult time. XOXOXO-Jennifer Rhode

I have such wonderful memories of my time working at PMC. Most of which include my friend Tom. He knew how to make work fun and I will always think of him when asked "Whats for dinner?" His kind spirit and generosity is second to none. He is deeply missed already. Tom, until we meet again and I get that much talked about rematch in pool, I love you my friend. We will miss Tom so much at the pharmacy at PMC. He was such a wonderful and lively coworker, and we all enjoyed having the opportunity to work with him for so many years. His sense of humor and fondness for joking around always kept the pharmacy staff smiling. It is truly like we have lost a family member. We will never forget you Tom! Keeping Brian and Betsy and your whole family in our prayers.
