Elenor Jean Den Beste Moore Thomas, better known as Ellie, passed away on March 28, 2018 at the age of 76 years.Ellie was born on December 27, 1941 to the late Edward & Elvena Den Beste in Orange City, IA. She attended Mapleton High School in Mapleton, IA. She met her husband of 27 years, the late Mason Moore, and they lived and raised their three children in Indian Land, SC. She retired as an executive secretary for P.L. Industries. Ellie’s family was her joy in life. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, Panther’s Football, playing canasta, and recently found a love of drum circles at her retirement community, Brookdale Churchill of Mooresville, NC where she had many friends.Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Nick Thomas; her children, Rona & Mark Wilkinson, Brent & Crystal Moore, and Eric & Kathy Moore; and grandchildren, Rumer & Max Wilkinson, Mason, Alex & Emma Moore, and Sarah & Keira Moore; and the children and grandchildren of the Thomas family survive Ellie. Also surviving are her siblings & their spouses, Edgar & Patty Den Beste, Elaine Fenceroy, Edna Meyer, Linda Den Beste and Eugene & Jackie Den Beste; and their children and grandchildren also survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Moore; and brother, Col. Edwin Den Beste, as well as Carl Fenceroy, Bob Meyer & Carol Den Beste.The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Wolfe Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 4, 2018 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 S Anderson Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730. Interment service for family will follow at Belair United Methodist Church in Indian Land, SC.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ellie’s honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
