Edward "Ed" Blackwell

Mr. Edward “Ed” Blackwell, age 80, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at his home.The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Glen Rock Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Nivens and Pastor Gene Flack officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery. Born in Gaffney,Mr. Blackwell was the last surviving of seven children born to the late Acom William Blackwell and Ethel Mae Bright Blackwell. He retired from Springs Industries after 47 years of employment and attended the Fort Mill Church of God for 30 years. Mr. Blackwell had a fabulous garden and enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and squirrels.Surviving are his wife, Patsy Lou Norton Blackwell; two sons, Tim and Frank Blackwell; 9 grandchildren, Tina, Crystal, Ashley, Aaron, Steven, Michael, Jessie, Justin and Jonathan and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Furman and Grover Blackwell; and his sisters, Jeanette Worley, Madeline Blackwell, Mildred Neal, and Christine Melton.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home.Read Obituary
