Debra “Debi” Frye Edmondson, 63 of Fort Mill, SC passed away suddenly at her home on March 4, 2017. Debi was born February 17, 1954 in Leesburg, VA to the late Jesse W. Frye and Helen Wynkoop Frye. The youngest of three daughters, Debi attended Lucketts Elementary School prior to graduating from Loudoun County High School in 1972. It was there in her sophomore year that she began a lifelong relationship with R. W., her husband of 43 years. While raising their two children, Patrick and Courtney, Debi enjoyed a very successful 20 year career in local government working for both Louisa and Spotsylvania Counties. Since moving to Fort Mill, SC in 2005, she has been an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, where she has participated in various groups and activities, including United Methodist Women and the Chancel Choir. Known for her quick wit and infectious smile, you could be sure any amount of time spent with her included laughter and memories to cherish for a lifetime. Debi was an incredible cook and the best hostess around, always welcoming everyone with the utmost grace and ease. She was our matriarch - strong, honest, nurturing, and completely dedicated to her family and God. Her love was unconditional and she led by her Christian example. She was “Debi” to most, “Mama” to her children, and “Mimi” to her precious grandchildren, who adored her and will miss her beyond belief.She is survived by her husband, R. W. Edmondson III of Fort Mill, SC; two children and their spouses, Patrick and Leigh Ann Edmondson of Indian Land, SC and Courtney and Greg Bonèy of Lake Wylie, SC; four grandchildren, William, Molly, Benjamin, and Abigail; two sisters, Charlotte (Paul) Duncan of Southport, NC, and Marilyn Short of Lexington, SC; as well as many other loving family members and special friends.A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5-7 PM at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, SC.
