*******************NOTE VISITATION CHANGE******* Mr. David Lee “Deat” Yarborough, 92, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Agape Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rock Hill.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Tucker and the Rev. Barry Yates officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery. Born in Fort Mill, Mr. Yarborough was a son of the late Joseph Oscar Yarborough and Irene Hood Yarborough. He served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II, and in his later years, he loved talking to folks about the time he served. He served on the Fort Mill Town Council for 12 years. Mr. Yarborough was retired from Springs Industries after 46 years of service. After his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard at Fort Mill Elementary School until he was 85 years old. He was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church for 67 years. He loved cars and at one time owned around 50 cars. Surviving are his daughter, Rita Faye Yarborough Evans and her husband, Bobby of Fort Mill; his sister, Margaret Yarborough Cranford of Fort Mill; two grandsons, Bobby Glenn Evans and his wife, Sherrie and Shannon Lee Evans and his wife, Patti, all of Fort Mill; and three great-grandsons, Dalton, Dillon and Mason Lee Evans. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years and lived at the same house on Morgan Street for 65 years, Bobbie Lou Hargett Yarborough (2005).The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church and other times at the home.
