Charles "Cheeta" Bayne

Mr. Charles Bayne, 87, of Fort Mill, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Westminster Health & Rehab Center in Rock Hill.A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Elliott Hipp officiating. Visitation will follow the service.Born in Fort Mill, Mr. Bayne was a son of the late James Marcus Bayne and Annie Leola Merritt Bayne. He proudly served in the National Guard, sang in the Fort Mill Community Chorus and volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Mill.Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marcelle “Marcie” West Bayne; his daughter, C. Lyn Bayne of Denver, N.C.; his son, Charles L. “Larry” Bayne, Jr. and his wife, Jacquelin of Easley, S.C; and his grandson, Ian Lawrence Bayne of Greenville, S.C.The family would like to thank Hospice & Community Care and the staff at Westminster Health & Rehab for their kind and loving care.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church, P.O.
