Mrs. Betty Patterson Ervin, 90, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at CMC-Pineville.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:50 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at St. John’s United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Karen H. Radcliffe officiating.A native Fort Millian, Mrs. Ervin was a daughter of the late Henry Lee Patterson, Sr. and Mary Harkey Patterson. Her natural mother, Robbie Mae Patterson, died when she was two years old. She graduated from Fort Mill High School. Mrs. Ervin worked for Springs Industries for forty years and was a member of its 25-year club. She was an active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, the Ladies Bible Class and the Clara Phillips Circle. She enjoyed growing flowers and visiting with her family and friends.Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Ervin of Lake Junaluska, N.C. and Barri Helms (Terry) of Charlotte, N.C.; her brother, James H. Patterson (Kay) of Fort Mill; her sister, Carolyn Rowland (David) of Fort Mill; two granddaughters, Jennifer Stokes (Ross) of Albemarle, N.C. and Maggie Helms of Charlotte, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Claire and Wray Stokes. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Lee Patterson, Jr. and Samuel M. Patterson, Sr.Memorials may be made to St. John’s U.M.C., P.O.
