Mrs. Alice Cochran Holloway, 89, passed into glory the 27th of December, 2014, at her home in Tega Cay.Alice was the youngest of three Cochran sisters. Her sisters passed away several years ago. The middle sister was survived by daughters, Jane Rogers of Naples, FL, and Nancy Kodros of Cedar Rapids, IA; and son, Michael Gardner (deceased) of Naples, FL. Alice is survived by her son, Randy and his wife, Carol of Fort Mill, SC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Allison and her husband, Brian and his wife and Julie and her husband; and six great-grandchildren. Her late husband, Frank Holloway, preceded her in death in 2011 after 57 years of marriage.Alice earned her B.S. degree from the University of Indiana in 1947, and her Masters from the School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago in 1952. Her career as a social worker was capped by her 16 years of employment as a Certified Social Worker and Supervisor with the State of Maryland, retiring in 1987, just prior to moving with her husband to Tega Cay, S.C.Alice and her family lived in Europe for five years (1962-67) where Frank was the Director of Technology for Allied Chemical. She will be remembered as an ardent golfer and bridge player, and enjoyed a variety of horticultural and culinary endeavors.Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Tega Cay Fire Dept., 7200 Tega Cay Dr., Tega Cay, SC 29708
